Lusha Review

Lusha is one of those tools that keeps showing up in LinkedIn feed.

And folks in Lusha make a pretty tempting pitch: verified B2B contact data, direct dials, and a Chrome extension that lets you prospect straight from LinkedIn.

Sounds good.

But here’s the real question (and I’m guessing it’s yours too):

If you pull contacts from Lusha and send cold emails… do those emails actually land and get replies?

To get a real answer, I purchased Lusha, signed up, analyzed G2 reviews, exported contacts, built a sequence, and then watched what happened next.

In this review, I’m breaking down exactly what happened when I put Lusha to the test.

Let’s dive in.

What Is Lusha?

What Is Lusha?

Lusha is a B2B sales intelligence and contact data platform that helps to find, enrich, and reach out to prospect contacts. It provides access to business emails, phone numbers, and company details across different industries.

The tool is commonly used by sales, marketing, recruiting, and revenue teams to support outreach and lead generation. Users can search for contacts directly within the Lusha dashboard or pull data while browsing LinkedIn and company websites using its browser extension.

That’s Lusha at a glance. Let’s look at how the tool evolved since 2016.

The First 1 Minute With Lusha

Lusha’s onboarding is minimal. It asks two quick questions on your main use case (sales, recruitment, enrichment, etc.) and whether the data is for internal use only.

After that, you’re in the dashboard and ready to start.

The First 1 Minute With Lusha

Here’s how Lusha performed when I ran a real outreach test using Lusha contacts.

Performance Test: What Happened After Sending 250 Emails

Lusha reviw performance

To evaluate real-world performance, I ran a cold outreach campaign to 250 leads sourced through Lusha.

The goal was simple: test how the data performs in real outbound conditions.

Here’s what happened:

  • Open Rate: 54%

  • Reply Rate: 0.4%

  • Bounce Rate: 3%

The open rate suggests strong deliverability without major spam issues, and the bounce rate stayed within a normal range for cold outreach, so most contact data was usable.

Replies were limited, reinforcing that results depend more on targeting, messaging, and offer fit than the data source alone.

Overall, deliverability held up; execution determines outcomes.

This is how I took the leads from the contact database.

Contact Search

Lusha’s contact search is easy to navigate. I applied a few basic filters like industry, company size, and location, and within seconds, the platform returned 250 contacts.

Contact Search

The filtering felt responsive. I applied basic ICP filters on industry, company size, location, and Lusha quickly returned 533 contacts.

Contact Search

But when I started checking emails, many weren’t available.

Even after tweaking filters, the usable contacts weren’t enough to fully utilize my 250 credits. After certain filter I managed to use all the credits.

Later after building the contact list, I set up the outreach using Lusha’s engage option.

Lusha’s Outreach Process

Lusha includes a built-in outreach feature that lets you create email sequences directly inside the platform.

When writing an email, you get three options:

  • AI assistant to generate sequences
  • Pre-built email templates
  • Write from scratch.
Lusha’s Outreach Process

For testing, I began by experimenting with the AI assistant to see how the messaging is generated.

Lusha’s Outreach Process

It produced a solid draft with structure and relevancy, but it still needed manual polishing to sound natural and aligned with my tone.

Next, I checked the email templates. They come structured with subject lines, follow-ups, and placeholders.

Lusha’s Outreach Process

That said, they’re fairly generic out of the box, so you’ll need to customize the messaging to make it sound personal and relevant to your audience.

So, I chose to write the email manually and then moved on to selecting contacts for the campaign.

Lusha’s Outreach Process

After drafting the email, I loaded the contacts into the campaign.

Contacts

Adding contacts to a Lusha outreach sequence is straightforward. You can pull contacts from an existing list, upload a CSV file, or add new prospects directly from Lusha’s prospecting feature.

Once added, contacts appear inside the sequence with their own status, making it easy to manage and track outreach in one place.

Email Preview & Scheduling

The email section lets you review exactly how each message will look before it’s sent.

You can see personalized fields filled in for every contact, check subject lines, and confirm scheduling details. This makes it easy to catch errors and make quick edits before launching the sequence.

Email Preview & Scheduling

And when it comes to scheduling, it’s straightforward: select your time zone, choose the days you want emails to send, and set a time window (like business hours).

Email Preview & Scheduling

After covering outreach, I tested Lusha’s Chrome extension separately.

Chrome Extension

I tested Lusha’s Chrome extension directly on LinkedIn profiles, and it worked well.

Chrome Extension

By viewing the LinkedIn profiles, it scrapes business emails and phone numbers without leaving the page.

In my tests, most of the data looked accurate and usable, making the extension a convenient option for quick prospecting while browsing LinkedIn.

Chrome Extension

Integrations & Workflow

Lusha supports 15 native integrations, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, and Outreach.

Setup is quick, and once connected, contacts can be pushed directly into your CRM or sales tools. This keeps workflows streamlined and reduces manual data entry during prospecting and outreach.

Integrations & Workflow

From a workflow standpoint, it checks out. Now let’s talk numbers.

Lusha Pricing

Lusha’s pricing isn’t entirely consistent. During testing, pricing varied depending on the device and plan view, which can be confusing for first-time buyers.

Initially, plans appeared to start at $29.90 per month, while other views showed updated tiers going up to custom pricing for larger teams.

Lusha Pricing

Hidden Costs & Limitations

  • Credits consumed per contact reveal (email/phone)
  • Higher charges for phone numbers vs emails
  • Limited credits on lower-tier plans
  • Extra costs for advanced features (API access, enrichment, automation)
  • Seat-based pricing for teams

Overall, while Lusha offers flexible plans, the actual cost depends heavily on usage, credits consumed, and feature requirements, making it important to review the plan details carefully before committing.

That’s my take on pricing. Here’s what users say they like and dislike.

“Giving out private phone numbers to spam callers – what a business model.”

That’s what users report. Here’s who Lusha fits best.

Who Lusha Is Best For (and Who Should Skip It)

Lusha is best for:

  • SDRs and BDRs who need quick access to verified emails and phone numbers while prospecting on LinkedIn
  • Small to mid-sized sales teams looking for a simple, fast-to-deploy contact data tool
  • Recruiters sourcing candidates and needing direct contact details
  • Teams already using CRMs like Salesforce or HubSpot and want easy contact enrichment
  • Users focused on outbound volume rather than deep account-level insights

Lusha may not be the best fit for:

  • Large enterprises that need deep firmographic, technographic, or intent data
  • Teams with high calling volume, as phone credits can get expensive quickly
  • Users targeting niche or less-covered regions, where data availability can vary
  • Budget-sensitive teams that need predictable, flat pricing
  • Anyone expecting a full sales intelligence suite like ZoomInfo rather than a lightweight prospecting tool

In short, Lusha works well as a fast, no-friction prospecting tool, but it’s not designed to replace a full-scale sales intelligence platform.

Before wrapping up, here are some questions that came up during my research.

FAQs

1. Is Lusha GDPR and CCPA compliant, and is it safe to use for outreach?

Yes, Lusha is GDPR and CCPA compliant and holds an ISO 27701 privacy certification. However, compliance from Lusha’s side doesn’t automatically make your outreach compliant. You still need to ensure your email campaigns follow local regulations by having a legitimate business interest, honoring opt-out requests, and not contacting people on do-not-call lists.

2. How often does Lusha update its database?

Lusha says it continuously refreshes its database, but in practice, the freshness depends on the contact. High-profile roles at well-known companies tend to be updated more frequently, while contacts at smaller or niche businesses may be outdated.

3. Can someone remove themselves from Lusha’s database?

Yes. Lusha has an opt-out process where individuals can request their personal data be removed. You can visit Lusha’s privacy center and submit a removal request.

4. If I cancel my Lusha subscription, can I still access the contacts I already exported?

Yes, any contacts you’ve already exported to a CSV, your CRM, or another tool remain yours after cancellation. However, you’ll lose access to Lusha’s dashboard, search functionality, Chrome extension, and any saved lists within the platform.

Final Verdict

Lusha is a good fit for basic prospecting and outreach when you want something simple, fast, and easy to deploy. It works best for teams that value speed over depth.

However, as credit usage increases, costs and data coverage limitations become more noticeable. So Lusha makes sense for focused, controlled use and not for large-scale or data-heavy sales operations.
